About
Moei Moei is what my family
called me growing up.
It means little girl in Hakka. My family is from Hong Kong, Hakka in origin — a people known for leaving, and for carrying what matters with them.
I studied accessories design. I worked with luxury houses in Paris, London, and New York. Over many years, I learned what it means to make something properly — which materials hold, which constructions last, which details matter when everything else is stripped away.
I also learned which things were not being said.
“The work I saw in China was equal to anything I had encountered elsewhere. It just was not given the same name.”
Moei Moei makes one boot. The leather is full-grain. The finishing is done by hand.
We chose to make it where we make it because of the quality of the craft there, and because it felt honest. The boot tells you what it is. Where it is from. What went into it.
The brand is named for my grandmother's word for me. It is small, and personal. That is exactly the point.
Craft
Every detail of the boot is chosen for how it ages. Nothing is decorative.
Longevity
One product. Designed to outlast the reason you bought it.
Origin
French and Hakka and Hong Kong. The brand does not choose between them.
